Egg Drop 2025 was a huge success! Our 6th graders brought the creativity this year with 24 student-designed projects, each one engineered to protect an egg from a 20-foot drop onto concrete. Students worked in teams to plan, build, and test their contraptions—and for the first time ever, an entire class had every single project survive the fall! On Friday, Nov. 21st, 24 of our Red Lick Mustang Band students auditioned for the All-Region Band. This year we had 10 students earn placement in the All-Region Band! These students will be performing with the other students from our region in the All-Region Band Concert, on January 17th, at Pleasant Grove High School. I've got to brag that we had more Red Lick students make the all-region band than many area schools including: Redwater, New Boston, Liberty Eylau, Hooks, Pittsburg, Maud, Clarksville, Pewitt, and others.

During the fourth and fifth periods, sixth-grade math students began an introductory unit on the addition and subtraction of integers. Using two-sided counters as a manipulative, students modeled integer operations and discovered the concept of zero pairs through this hands-on process.

Due to a lack of interest, Red Lick Battle Stangs will not be hosting Madden tryouts on Wednesday, September 10. All other tryouts will continue as scheduled.

Red Lick travels to North Lamar to compete in a double header against North Lamar and Chapel Hill. Games are at 5:15 and 6:30. Go Mustangs!

There is a mandatory parent meeting for parents of middle school students wanting to tryout for the Esports team.

Today the staffers took over! Second year yearbook staff took time to teach their classmates about different aspects of the camera. First year staffers learned how to turn on and off the camera, learned about the different camera settings, learned about the different equipment involved in photography, and learned how to change our lenses. All this from a group of their peers.

Due to high demand, the deadline has been extended to August 27th to give everyone ample time to order.

7th and 8th graders have had a fun science week. They had "Cobra Weave" and Cup Tower contests, compared Mentos and various soda reactions, observed can crushing as a result of rapid changes in air pressure, and watched the effect of Carbon Dioxide gas on a flame.
