Red Lick Basketball

The Red Lick Mustangs boys basketball teams faced off against the Avery Bulldogs last night for their first games of the season. Here are the results:

7th Grade Boys

Red Lick 37     Avery 26

The 7th grade Mustangs pulled out a victory in their first games of the season last night by a final score of 37-26. The Mustangs played hard and overcame a late run by the Bulldogs to seal the victory. The Mustangs were led by Ashton Smallwood and Cooper Swanson with 13 points a piece. Kamden Kyles chipped in 6 and Braiden Goynes had 5 as well. 

8th Grade Boys

Red Lick 30     Avery 19

The 8th grade Mustangs came away with a win in the final game of the night by a final score of 30-19. The Mustangs were led on the defensive end by Jayden Hadaway and Ryan Wells. Wells led the Mustangs with 10 points and Tim Thompson had 9 points. Horatio Foster contributed 5 points and Gunner Hensel had 4 points as well. 

The Mustangs will be back in action next Saturday, November 11th vs. the CHAAMP Hawks. Games will start at 10am with the 7th grade boys, followed by the 7th/8th grade girls, and the 8th grade boys. Our Lady Mustangs will begin district play vs. DeKalb next Monday, November 6th at DeKalb. 7th grade girls will start at 5pm and the 8th grade will follow. We are excited to get the basketball season started and a huge thank you to all that came out to support the boys last night. Go Mustangs!!
