RLMS robotics students

This past Saturday, some of the robotics students traveled to Sulphur Springs for the Texas Youth Robotics Association "Hi, Bye Pizza Pie" Competition.  All four of our teams made it to the semifinals, where some of our teams went head to head in a single elimination match.

In the end, our Dough Spinners (Braydan Goynes, Cooper Hampton, Ashton Smallwood, and Grant Swenson) took second place and automatically advance to the championship invitational in April.  Our two sixth grade teams, Pizza, Pizza (Ezra Dawson, Ethan Kessler, and Josiah Robinson, who was unable to attend) and Squirrel Bot (Everrett DeGroot and Max Sowell) worked as an alliance and took third place after losing to the Dough Spinners.  Our last team, Found Pizza Co (Carson Kelems, Liam Peters, and Ian Williams) were eliminated in the first round of the semifinals by the team that won the whole tournament.  This put them in fourth place.

In all, Red Lick brought home 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places, with one team heading to the championships.  The teams that didn't automatically advance will have a chance to adjust their robot and try again in March.
