The boys baseball team traveled to Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill last night for their first games of the season. Here are the results:
Game 1
MP Chapel Hill 6 Red Lick 1
The Red Lick Mustangs fell to the Red Devils in the first game of the night by a final score of 6-1. The Mustangs were led at the plate by Lawson Brainerd with a single and a double. Jude McKeever scored a run in the game. Stone Cauley pitched the final frame with a scoreless inning.
Game 2
Red Lick 3 MP Chapel Hill 0
The Mustangs came out on top of the 2nd game of the night by a final score of 3-0. Jeffery Ives picked up the win on the mound, throwing a complete game 1 hit shutout, while adding a double at the plate. Tied 0-0 in the top of the 4 inning, Josiah Robinson started off the inning with a single, followed by an RBI bunt single by Daxton Fowler. Stone Cauley knocked in an RBI single in the inning, followed up with a single by Will Dougherty.
The Mustangs will be back in action next week at North Lamar. The Mustangs will play game 2 and 3 of the night starting at 5:15pm. If you get the chance, come out and support the boys in action. Go Mustangs!!
