The Red Lick Mustangs traveled to North Lamar last night to face off against the Chapel Hill Red Devils and North Lamar Panthers. Here are the results:
Game 1
Red Lick 3 Chapel Hill 2
The Mustangs took the first game of the night vs. the Red Devils by a final score of 3-2. Going into the final inning down 2-0, Lawson Brainerd started the inning off with a single followed by a Jeffery Ives hit to drive in a run. Later in the inning, Daxton Fowler stole home and Ethan Kessler scored on an infield hit by Stone Cauley. Stone Cauley picked up the win on the mound, throwing the final inning of the game and striking out two batters. Will Dougherty, Luke Wasson, Jude McKeever, and Lucas Collins all picked up a hit in the game.
Game 2
Red Lick 3 North Lamar 3
The Red Lick Mustangs finished in a tie against the North Lamar Panthers by a final score of 3-3. Down 3-0 in the 3rd inning, the Mustangs rallied to tie the game with 3 runs in the 3rd. Dax Fowler came through with a 2 out 2 RBI single to tie the game, with Jeffery Ives driving in the first run of the game in the same inning on a single. Luke Wasson pitched a complete game, striking out 5 batters and pitched 3 scoreless innings to finish the game.
The Mustangs will be back in action next Monday at Spring Lake Park vs. North Lamar and Chapel Hill. The Mustangs will play the first game of the night at 4pm, and then will play the 3rd game of the night at 6:30pm.
