The Red Lick Mustangs played in their first home games of the season last night vs. the Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill Red Devils and the North Lamar Panthers. Here are the results:
Game 1
Red Lick 4 North Lamar 4
The Mustangs tied the Panthers in the first game of the night by a final score of 4-4. Down 2-0, Lawson Brainerd ripped a 2 RBI single to get the Mustangs on the board. Dax Fowler later added an RBI single and later scored to tie the game. Jeffery Ives started the game on the mound and ended with 3 K's. Stone Cauley closed the game out for the Mustangs and held the Panthers to one run. Both Jeffery and Stone added singles at the plate.
Game 2
Red Lick 6 MP Chapel Hill 0
The Mustangs won the final game of the night against the Red Devils by the final score of 6-1. Luke Wasson pitched a complete game shutout, striking out 8 batters in 4 innings played. Leading 1-0 in the top of the 3rd, Lawson Brainerd and Jude McKeever started the inning off with singles a piece. Jeffery Ives ripped a 2 RBI triple in the next at bat, and Ethan Kessler drove in the final run of the inning.
The Red Lick Mustangs will be in action next Monday at Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill. The Mustangs will face the Chapel Hill Red Devils at 4pm, followed by the North Lamar Panthers at 5:15pm. If you get the chance, come out and support the boys. Go Mustangs!!
