Baseball results 9/16

Yesterday, the Red Lick Mustang baseball team traveled to Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill to play the Red Devils and North Lamar Panthers. Here are the results:

Game 1

Red Lick 5     Chapel Hill 1

The Mustangs came out hot and won game 1 of the night by a final score of 5-1. In the top of the first inning, the Mustangs put up 5 runs to get the game started and never looked back. Jeffery Ives started on the mound for the Mustangs, pitching 3 innings and struck out 3 batters. Lawson Brainerd came in to pitch in the 4th inning to pick up the save. Colt Reyes, Jude McKeever, and Lawson Brainerd each had singles at the plate, along with Stone Cauley picking up an RBI.

Game 2

Red Lick 5     North Lamar 4

The Mustangs kept the momentum going from game 1 into the 2nd game of the night, winning in walk-off fashion by a final score of 5-4. Luke Wasson came through in the last at bat of the game with an RBI to seal the win for the Mustangs. Stone Cauley picked up the win and held the Panthers off at the end to go into the bottom of the 3rd tied 4-4. Lucas Collins led the Mustangs at the plate with an RBI single and had some great defensive plays throughout the game. Ethan Kessler and Daxton Fowler both added singles in the game as well. 

The Mustangs will be back in action next Monday, 9/22 at North Lamar. The 1st game of the night will start at 4pm vs. the Panthers, followed by game 2 against the Chapel Hill Red Devils. The Mustangs are 5-1-2 on the season after last night's wins. Go Mustangs!!
