The Red Lick Mustangs traveled to Maud last night to play their 2nd district games of the season. Here are the results:
7th Grade
Red Lick 18 Maud 4
The 7th grade boys faced off against the Maud Cardinals last night, pulling off the victory by a final score of 18-4. The Mustangs got off to a hot start, going into halftime leading 14-4 and never looked back. The Mustangs were led by Daxton Fowler and Lawson Brainerd with 4 points a piece and were key in creating havoc on the defensive end. Luke Wasson and Chris Shelton added 3 points a piece as well for the Mustangs.
8th Grade
Red Lick 46 Maud 13
The 8th grade boys overcame a slow start to get their 2nd victory of the season over the Maud Cardinals by a final score of 46-13. After a 1st quarter score of 6-6, the Mustangs went on a 14-4 run to end the 2nd quarter. The Mustangs were led by Jude McKeever with 11 points, with Chance Knighton and Samuel Gonzalez chipping in 8 points a piece. Lucas Collins added 6 points, and Dylan Wells and Jeffery Ives had 4 each.
The Mustangs will be back in action next Monday at home vs. Pewitt. 7/8th Grade B team will start at 4:30pm, followed by the 7th A tipping off at 5pm. 8th grade A team will follow after the 7th A game.
