The Red Lick Mustangs faced off against the Pewitt Brahmas last night in their 3rd district contest of the season. Here are the results.
7th Grade
Red Lick 34 Pewitt 25
The Red Lick Mustangs overcame an 8-5 deficit in the first quarter to defeat the Pewitt Brahmas last night by a final score of 34-25. Lawson Brainerd led the charge for the Mustangs with 12 points and numerous steals and deflections on the defensive end. Stone Cauley added 8 points and Luke Wasson chipped in 5 points.
8th Grade
Red Lick 30 Pewitt 24
The Red Lick Mustangs came away with a victory in the final game of the night by a final score of 30-24. Eli Rankin led the Mustangs in scoring with 12 points and Samuel Gonzalez added 9. Jeffery Ives, Ethan Kessler, and Jude McKeever were key on the defensive end with causing havoc and creating turnovers for the Mustangs.
With the 2 wins last night, the Mustangs moved to 3-0 in district play. The boys will be back in action next Monday vs. Harts Bluff at Red Lick. The 7/8th B team will play at 4:30pm with the 7A starting at 5pm and 8A to follow. The boys are off to a hot start to begin the year and would love your support next Monday. Go Mustangs!!
