The Red Lick Mustangs faced off against the Harts Bluff Bulldogs last night for their 4th district game of the season. Here are the results.
7th Grade
Red Lick Mustangs 27 Harts Bluff Bulldogs 18
The 7th grade Mustangs overcame a 10-4 deficit at halftime to come away with the victory by a final score of 27-18. The Mustangs trailed 18-10 going into the 4th quarter and finished the game on a 17-0 run to take the victory and overcome a slow start to the game. Will Dougherty led the Mustangs with 9 points and Daxton Fowler and Lawson Brainerd added 8 points. Aydan Marbut, Isaiah White, Stone Cauley, and Luke Wasson played important minutes throughout the game to control the ball and stop the Bulldogs on the defensive end.
8th Grade
Harts Bluff Bulldogs 35 Red Lick 27
The Red Lick Mustangs fell in the final game of the night by a final score of 35-27. The Mustangs played a hard fought game but in the end could not overcome a hot shooting night by the Bulldogs. Jude McKeever led the Mustangs with 7 points, while Ethan Kessler and Eli Rankin added 6. Colt Reyes played big minutes in the game getting key rebounds and steals, and Samuel Gonzalez added 4 points for the Mustangs.
The 7th grade Mustangs go into the Christmas break with a district record of 4-0, while the 8th grade Mustangs head into break with an overall record of 3-1. The Mustangs will be back in action on January 8th on the road at Rivercrest. The Mustangs 7th A team will begin their game at 5pm, while the 8th A team will follow shortly afterwards. Go Mustangs!!
