Yesterday Red Lick Robotics attended their first competition of the year. We took 2 VEX teams to the Region 8 Service Center and were among 33 other teams.
Going into the finals, Team Overload (Ezra Dawson, Nolan Dumas, Jett King, and Autin Taylor, who didn't attend yesterday) was ranked 12th, and Team Ducklings (Everett DeGroot, Max Sowell, and Levi Yelverton) was ranked 13th.
Both teams and their alliance partners drew the second game of the finals, in a single elimination tournament bracket. Unfortunately, one of the teams had to go down. After a heated game, the Ducklings moved on to the quarter finals, where they fell to the number 1 seeded alliance.
These teams will return to class today to make adjustments based on what they learned yesterday and prepare for their next VEX Tournament on Feb. 13.
The other teams in Robotics will begin their competitions in March.
