The Red Lick Mustangs boys basketball teams traveled to Rivercrest last night for their 5th game of the season. Here are the results:
7th Grade Boys
Red Lick 39 Rivercrest 19
The 7th grade boys took the first game of the night, with every player on the team scoring, by a final score of 39-19. The Mustangs took a first half lead of 19-6 and never looked back. Stone Cauley led all Mustangs with 10 points, with Lawson Brainerd adding 8 points. It was a full team effort for the Mustangs and all players played an unselfish game.
8th Grade Boys
Red Lick 51 Rivercrest 9
The 8th grade Mustangs started slow, but ended the first half on a 23-3 run to pull away from Rivercrest to come away with the victory 51-9. Eli Rankin led all scorers with 12 points, and Jude McKeever added 10 points. Ethan Kessler had 8 points and Jeffery Ives and Josiah Robinson chipped in 6 points.
The Mustangs are back at home next Thursday, January 15th vs. Detroit. 7/8 B intersquad game will be at 4:30, followed by 7A at 5pm and 8A to follow. The 7th A Mustangs are 5-0 on the season and 8A Mustangs are 4-1 following the two wins last night. Go Mustangs!!
