Lady Mustang Basketball

The Lady Mustangs wrapped up their final away game of the season in dominant fashion Thursday night, traveling to Maud and coming away with two big wins. Both the 7th and 8th grade teams put on impressive performances, improving each of their season records to 6-1.

7th Grade Girls

Red Lick 47 — Maud 7

The 7th grade Lady Mustangs were unstoppable from start to finish, combining lockdown defense with efficient scoring around the basket. Their pressure defense created constant turnovers, and the offense capitalized nearly every opportunity.

Paisley York led the scoring with 15 points, followed closely by Jaimie Irby with 14. Aubree Castle added 10 points, while Piper Rushing and Sofia Carrillo each chipped in 4. Lorelei DePriest and Bella Bristow made a strong impact on the defensive end, applying constant pressure and delivering great passes that helped keep the offense flowing. The team’s intensity and teamwork on both ends of the floor set the tone early and never let up.

8th Grade Girls

Red Lick 40 — Maud 6

The 8th grade Lady Mustangs matched that intensity with another strong showing, using tough, disciplined defense and smart offensive execution to secure the win. Their defensive pressure kept Maud off balance all game, while the offense rarely missed when it mattered.

Sy Endsley led the scoring with 23 points. Brynlee Brush and Sadie Heiner each scored 4, Jade Robertson had 3, and Arielle Hilderbrand, Ellie Tyndell, and Ashlynn Irby each added 2.  Jacy Carrillo, Alexi Morton, Alexis Burns, Ryann McNiel, and Elise Thomson anchored the defense with strong positioning and great rebounding, consistently limiting second-chance opportunities. Every player contributed, making it a complete team victory.

The Lady Mustangs will play their last home game of the season Monday, February 9, vs. the Pewitt Brahmas. The 7th grade tips off at 5 PM, with the 8th grade game to follow.

These girls have had an amazing season and have worked incredibly hard all year. Please come out, fill the stands, and show them your support for the final game of the season!
