The Red Lick Mustangs traveled to North Lamar last night for the 3rd week of games this season. Here are the results:
Game 1
Red Lick 6 North Lamar 4
The Mustangs battled the North Lamar Panthers in game one, coming away with the victory for a final score of 6-4. Luke Wasson started on the mound for the Mustangs, allowing no hits and striking out four Panther batters in two innings of work. Stone Cauley came in relief, allowing only one earned run and held off a late rally in the final frame to close the game out. Dax Fowler led the way for the Mustangs at the plate with two hits and Wright Telg added a double in the game. Branson Browning and Luke Wasson drove in two RBI's in the afternoon to help the Mustangs secure the victory.
Game 2
Red Lick 3 Paris 2
The Red Lick Mustangs faced off against the Paris Wildcats in the final game of the afternoon and came away with the victory by a final score of 3-2. Dax Fowler started on the mound and gave up two runs while striking out two Wildcats in two innings of work. Branson Browning, Owen Thomas, and Dax Fowler led the Mustangs at the plate with a hit a piece. Stone Cauley drove in the game winning runs with a 2 RBI single in the bottom of the 3rd inning before going into the final frame. Tyler Swenson came in relief, allowing one hit and striking out two Wildcats in two innings of work, ending the game with a 1-6-3 double play to secure the victory for the Mustangs.
The Mustangs will be back in action next Monday, 9/21, for their first home games of the season at Swanger Complex. The Mustangs will play at approximately 4pm and 6:30pm. Come out and support the boys if you get the chance. Go Mustangs!!
