This past Saturday, a team of 4 students competed in the Texas Region 2 State Championships for VEX Robotics at Miller Grove Middle School. As this is our first year to compete in VEX, we were elated just to get the invitation to compete.
At the competition, we ran into several difficulties leading us to not do as well in the tournament bracket as we would have liked, but our kids kept smiles on their faces, good sportsmanship, and a humble attitude. During the interview process, they communicated their challenges and how they were correcting the issues. This interview, coupled with their attitudes throughout the day, earned them the 2024 Texas Region 2 Middle School Championship Judges Award.
The team, known as the Micro Mustangs, consisted of Ian Williams, Atticus Aslin, Lilyann Dyer, and J.L. Gonzales. These kids represented what it means to be a Mustang, and I am super proud of them!
